about five card draw

Five card draw is one of the many variants of poker and is very often the first one people learn. It is mostly played at home and small gatherings but isn’t usually played at casinos.
The first thing in five draw is to place an ante. Players usually place a small bet in the pot for starters. This goes on increasing through the duration of the game. All the players are dealt five cards each, face down and this is when play begins. This begins with the player to the dealer’s left. The remaining deck is kept apart and the idea here is for players to have a look at their cards, assess them but at the same time keep them hidden from others and then the round of betting begins. The ante is the initial bet made by everyone but you can raise it by meeting the previous amount and then exceeding it.
If more than one person is left after the first round the draw begins with the player to the dealer’s left. Here each player specifies how many cards he wants to discard and then the deck is retrieved and then he gets the same number of cards from the deck in replacement. A player might also choose not to replace any cards. This is known as “staying”. The second round begins after this which is followed by a showdown where if there is more than one player remaining the one with the best hand wins.
A common rule of the game is that the bottom card of the deck is never given to any of the players as a replacement as they might have seen it during the course of the game. There are a number of other house rules but they are employed in different circumstances and gatherings.
